INTRODUCING THE MACALLAN WHISKY TROLLEY
The Macallan Distillery recently tied up with the iconic Oblix bar located on the 32nd floor of The Shard to launch The Macallan Whisky Trolley – a showcase of blends from the Craigellachie-based distiller. The two brands, stalwarts in their own domain, have come together to offer patrons a redefined pairing experience with an expansive range of Scottish cheeses to choose from.
Speaking about their new collaboration with the renowned distillery, Aaron Masonde, bar manager at Oblix stated, “The Macallan and Oblix share a likeness in that we are both trying to push boundaries and change the way people perceive food and drink.”
The Trolley has been handcrafted from one of Macallan’s sherry butts personally picked by Stuart MacPherson, the Master of Wood, from Spanish bodegas. The distillers felt that it was the perfect way to highlight one of their casks – the culmination of their meticulous method for selecting casks and barrels.
The Macallan was established in 1824, and has ever since been distilling some of the best single malts in the world. The Oblix is a prominent destination kitchen and bar that offers an engaging dining experience and has been consistently rated as one of London’s best restaurants.
