Bloody Old Fashioned

This one is a lifesaver as it only requires a modification to the garnish to turn it from one of the most famous whisky based classic cocktails to one of the best Halloween cocktails. Not only is the Old Fashioned a prominent feature in the whisky based cocktails top 10, takes as much time to prepare as instant noodles.

For the Bloody Old Fashioned, all you need is a great whisky of your choice. It could be an Irish whiskey, Bourbon, an Indian whisky or even Scotch. Although we do not recommend Scotch whisky cocktails, Halloween is the right time to break the rules.

All you need to prepare the Bloody Old Fashioned is;

  • 60 ML - Jameson Irish whiskey/Blenders Pride whisky/Rabbit Hole Cavehill Bourbon
  • 2 Dashes – Angostura Bitters
  • 1 pc – Sugar Cube
  • 1 drop – Red Food Colouring (Optional)
  • 1 Slice – Orange Peel
  • Here’s how you can prepare the Bloody Old Fashioned

Place the sugar cube in an Old Fashioned glass, add a couple dashes of Angostura Bitters and a few drops of water. Muddle the sugar cube, add a large ice cube and the whisky. Add a drop of Red food colouring and stir to make it a bloody Old Fashioned. Carve the Orange peel with a face and add it on top for garnish.
