Basil Hayden's New Rye Whiskey Adds Zest to the Category
Basil Hayden's has unveiled a special edition product offering, the Basil Hayden’s Rye Whiskey. This Kentucky straight rye whiskey is inspired by the brand’s signature expression, which exemplifies a spicy texture resulting from the use of rye.
The rich and deepened flavor of Basil Hayden’s Rye Whiskey is attributed to the infusion of exquisitely aged rye, which stays barreled for four years. It is then poured out and aged in newly scorched quarter cask oak barrels for another seven years. This gently matured re-barreled rye is precisely melded with standard Kentucky straight rye whiskey to ensure that the warm fragrance of the baking spices stay prominent. Bottled in an easy-sipping 80 proof, the outcome is a premium rye whiskey which proves to be highly approachable with a touch of mild oak and char.
"The spicy character of rye has always been a signature part of what makes Basil Hayden's special, so creating a rye whiskey was a natural fit," said Rob Mason, Vice President of Bourbon at Beam Suntory said in a press release. Commenting on how the rye whiskey complements the brands legacy, he further highlighted that the Basil Hayden’s Rye Whiskey provides the fans with an opportunity to enjoy everything that they cherish about bourbon, starting from approachable nature and smoothness to its spicy essence, everything neatly wrapped in an intriguing whiskey impression.
The distinct charred oak flavor of the Basil Hayden’s Rye Whiskey can be best relished when used as a base for a cocktail, on the rocks or consumed neat. Embellished with the Basil Hayden’s signature hand applied copper belt and parchment bib, Basil Hayden's Rye Whiskey now comes in limited quantities for a suggested retail price of $44.99 for a 750ml bottle.
