Whiskey Hot Chocolate
Perhaps the most conventional and traditionally satisfying comfort drink, Hot Chocolate is without question the drink of choice no matter whom you ask! There is no better feeling on a cold night, or a rainy day when you’re curled up on the couch and holding a cup of hot chocolate but what if it could be made better?
This World Chocolate Day, we’re helping you profess your love for chocolate, albeit with an interesting twist for all the whisky lovers out there. Whisky Hot Chocolate puts a terrific spin onto the ultimate comfort drink. This whiskey cocktail is very easy to make, and an ideal drink for a lazy day.
For situations when plain old Hot Chocolate just won’t do, the cocktail is the answer to turn any hour, into a happy hour! All you need is a bottle of Jameson Irish whiskey, and expect the good times to roll.
- Jameson Irish whiskey
- Powdered Sugar – 90 Grams
- Chocolate Bar – 150 Grams
- Milk – 1 L
- Heavy Cream – 200 ML
- Cardamom – 4 Pods
- Cinnamon – 1 Stick
- Chocolate – Grated for garnish
Step 1: Heat the milk, half the heavy cream, cardamom and cinnamon in a saucepan. Keep the heat low and make sure you do not boil the mixture.
Step 2: Let cool and strain the liquid into another pan. Put it on low heat, add pieces of chocolate, and whisk slowly.
Step 3: Remove from the heat and add Jameson Irish whiskey.
Step 4: Serve into coffee mugs. Whisky remaining heavy cream and garnish with a dollop on top. Sprinkle grated chocolate on top.
