Blissful Breakfasts: Blueberry Bourbon Cream Cheese Pie

Halloween is the time for some yummy baked recipes. However, you might have to wait for the festive mood to set in. But that shouldn’t stop you from making some treats for parties, after-school events or to just enjoy. You can forget buying some store-bought treats. Bring out your oven, and start baking. The delicious, sweet perfection — Blueberry Bourbon Cream Cheese Pie will be ready in just 10 minutes.


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted cold butter
  • cut into small chunks
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 90 ml Bourbon whiskey
  • 1/4 cup soft cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

The Process

Pulse the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, along with the cold butter until you make a crumbly mixture. It should match the size of peas. Add Bourbon whiskey and pulse for a few times till the dough comes together. Lay it onto a floured surface and shape that into two round discs. Cover it with the plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to one hour.

For the filling mix the heavy cream, cheese, basil, flour, sugar, and egg together in a separate bowl. Mix it to desired texture and add the blueberries.

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Fill the dough with the blueberry mixture. Then bake it until it turns golden, for about 10 minutes. Cool the pie on a wire rack before serving.
