Strathearn Distillery Unveils its Second Malt
Strathearn Distillery based in Perthshire has released the second batch of its single cask malt whisky, nearly four years since the institution’s establishment.
This second batch comprises two single cask bottlings: casks 028 and 044 (57% ABV) have been crafted using whisky that has been matured in small 50 litre, octave-sized casks. Cask 028 is said to deliver a rich and malty character with notes of pineapple and sherbet, and the Cask 044 lends hints of orange and toffee.
This boutique distillery established in 2013 by Tony Reeman-Clark, is one of the smallest distilleries of Scotland. It began its production in the month of October of the same year. The first cask was filled with Strathearn new-make spirit. Strathearn is also known for producing a range of highly acclaimed Scottish gins.
Strathearn Distillery’s founder holds that Strathearn spirit focuses on flavour and quality above all. Excited to get an additional batch on the market, he looks forward to making it accessible to the public and fans, valuing their satisfaction greatly.
Cask 028 is limited to 70 bottles and Cask 044 to 75 bottles. These are available for £145 from the distillery’s official website.

In each book, you may discover not merely a new brand or pairing, but also understand the basis of one expert’s opinion on a particular whisky, as opposed to another’s.Read More
Bladnoch Launches New Luxury Whisky
Bladnoch began making whisky in 1817, and this was nearly seven years before production was legal in Scotland. However, in 2009, production was at a standstill and in 2015 David Prior an entrepreneur from Australia purchased the distillery, revived production and relaunched a new range of whiskies to celebrate Bladnoch’s rebirth. The new Bladnoch Bicentennial Release, a 29-year old expression celebrates the Lowland distillery’s history. In a statement Prior said, “In the last three years, we have significantly invested in Bladnoch to revive whisky production, as we strive to give Scotland’s most southerly distillery back its true title as the ‘Queen of the Lowlands.’”Read More
