OLD BUSHMILLS DISTILLERS RELEASES NEW IRISH WHISKEY BLEND
As St. Patrick's inches closer, Irish whiskey should feature heavily on the spirit-lists of every patron. But, what about bourbon fans who wish to try an Irish whiskey?
Bushmills Red Bush is an Irish whiskey blend with fine bourbon flavor, recently introduced by one the oldest Irish distillers in Northern Ireland, Old Bushmills Distillers.
In the release, Master Distiller of Old Bushmills, Colum Egan explained what one could expect from this new blend. He informed, "Bushmills Red Bush personifies the gritty Irish character and adds a sense of adventure and fun to our portfolio, further defining the confident, courageous and independent spirit we've seen for generations at Bushmills."
Bushmills Red Bush has been produced by blending two types of Irish whiskeys, the triple distilled single malt and fine grain whiskey, all the way from Ireland. The blend has been matured in first-fill American bourbon casks. According to Egan, the maturation “creates a mildly sweet and extremely smooth spirit that will resonate with frequent bourbon fans and first time Irish whiskey drinkers."
Bushmills will be releasing its new blended whiskey initially to US markets, reverberating the fact that American love Irish whiskeys. Bushmills Red Bush has intense aromas of vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, one can expect notes of nuttiness and caramel. Its finish is subtly sweet, and is expected to draw new drinkers to the flavor profile. This versatile Irish whiskey can be enjoyed both neat and as a cocktail with ginger ale, cola, and soda.
