Proper No. Twelve is a brand of blended Irish whiskey established by mixed martial arts fighter and athlete, Conor McGregor. Having been launched in 2018, it is one of the newest whiskey brands in the market today.

This is a no-age-statement blend that McGregor named after the suburban area he grew up in, citing its influence on ‘making him what he is today.’

History of Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey

Conor McGregor chose Proper No. Twelve as the brand name for his product by taking inspiration from Dublin 12, the name of the area he grew up in. The Proper No. Twelve blend was created by former Guinness Master Distiller David Elder, who worked closely with McGregor to create an Irish whiskey that was ‘a unique and special blend.’

The brand claims their whiskey has been ‘created at the oldest distillery one the Isle of Ireland’, and that McGregor and Elder created over a 100 blends before arriving on this

While McGregor’s popularity worked miraculously for his personal business venture, the Proper No. Twelve Irish whiskey did not recreate critical success to mirror its founder’s. Nevertheless, it remains in demand owing to the relentless limelight of McGregor’s public image.
