Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
Another reliable release from Jim Beam, which according to the company, has been distilled in a pre-Prohibition style. As most Rye whiskeys, this one isn’t afraid to make its presence known on your taste buds. Rye whiskeys have notoriously been considered as a whiskey thatis ‘not for everyone’, and the Jim Beam Rye falls comfortably under that description. For the ones who love it, there could be nothing better but for the ones that don’t like it, they might never really develop an affinity for it.

Long before David Beckham and Haig Club, there was Dimple Haig. Launched at the end of the 19th century, it became the deluxe, sophisticated brother to the standard Haig & Haig blend, while in the US it has long been known as Dimple Pinch. Whether the name inspired the bottle or vice versa is unclear, but Dimple has always been packaged in a distinctive lozenge-shaped bottle with pinched sides like a collapsed pot still. Of the various expressions over time, the 15-year-old has a caramel sweetness, a touch of spice, some vanilla oak and no discernible smoke.

Bakery Hill Peated Malt
Originally made with imported UK peat, the Bakery Hill Peated Malt is now made with Australian Peat (however, it is lightly-peated in the vein of a Speyside than an Islay peat). The wash is produced in 1000L batches, then traditionally double-distilled in a copper-pot still. Bakery Hill's firm belief that caramel dulls the real flavors of the whisky stays true here, with no coloring added to the peated malt. (Note: this is not currently available in the US.)
The Glenlivet 18-Year-Old
The Glenlivet 18-Year-Old is a single malt Scotch whisky, part of the core range from one of the most iconic, and historically paramount Speyside distilleries in Scotland. It is one of the world’s highest selling single malt whiskies, and the 18-Year-Old, among other expressions from the brand, have historically been great performers at whisky tasting competitions worldwide.
