Glendalough 13 Year Old Irish Whiskey - Mizunara Oak Finish
The first and only Irish whiskey to have been finished in Japanese mizunara oak casks. First aged in bourbon barrels, this single malt was then transferred to virgin mizunara barrels created by hand at Japan's only independent cooperage. These lightly charred barrels have added vanilla, sandalwood and a touch of coconut to the whisky, while also increasing smoothness and depth of flavour.

The Macallan Amber Malt Scotch
he Macallan Amber is part of the colour-themed 1824 non age statement series of whiskies. Originating from Speyside, the Amber edition has been created exclusively in sherry casks, and is a full flavoured and rich single malt. Unsurprisingly deep amber in colour, it should be noted that the oak influence on this whisky is incredible. Plenty of vanilla notes, citrus and soft chocolate on the nose, and a hint of ginger spice. This leads to a pleasantly surprising fruity taste, with more dried fruits and cereal biscuits on the palate. Definitely a step up in flavour and fullness from the Gold expression in the series. The finish is oaky, with a touch of dried fruit and Christmas-themed spices.

Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
Another reliable release from Jim Beam, which according to the company, has been distilled in a pre-Prohibition style. As most Rye whiskeys, this one isn’t afraid to make its presence known on your taste buds. Rye whiskeys have notoriously been considered as a whiskey thatis ‘not for everyone’, and the Jim Beam Rye falls comfortably under that description. For the ones who love it, there could be nothing better but for the ones that don’t like it, they might never really develop an affinity for it.
Hudson Baby Bourbon (70cl)
Tuthilltown Spirits had the honour of producing the first legal pot-still whiskey in New York since Prohibition - Hudson Baby Bourbon! Made using 100% New York corn, the Tuthilltown folks mature the spirit in tiny 2 gallon barrels and treat it to some music. This isn't simply to entertain the whiskey as it sits stoically in a warehouse, the bass speakers agitate the cask and liquid, impacting the flavour! This is a 70cl bottling.
